FIMI - Excellence Award

As you are aware, the mining industry in India is mostly located in the remote and tribal areas and therefore the mineral sector plays an important role in the economic and social upliftment of these areas. In order to recognize mining companies who are playing an active role in promoting the general upliftment and social well-being of people, environmental conservation and better productivity as well as increasing profits, FIMI, since 2004-05 has instituted Bala Gulshan Tandon Excellence Award.

 

The  Award  (a  shield to the mine's management)  is  designed  to recognise  the  mines  adjudged to have best  contributed  by  the holistic  approach  for overall performance of a  mining  company, every year at the time of FIMI's Annual General Meeting.

 

A  Committee consisting of the following members will  assess  the performance  and achievements of mines and selects  that  adjudged best :

This letter is to invite your nomination for the award for the year 2007- 08.  We enclose a questionnaire on the basis of which marking will be done by the Excellence Award Committee.

 

In order to facilitate the Excellence Award Committee's assessment of your application, we would request you to kindly send us  the details of the works done by your company in the areas of business development and productivity, research and development, environment management and social awareness and community development etc. under its corporate policy only in a video CD film restricted to the time limit of five minutes.

 

We would also request you to kindly send us 20 sets of your complete application which includes short write-up about your organization along with a CD of Video film and award application fee of Rs. 10,000/- by demand draft favouring Federation of Indian Mineral Industries payable at New Delhi latest by 31^st March, 2008. It may be noted that the application without video CD film will not be considered for evaluation.

 

We may incidentally mention that once a mining company is awarded FIMI Excellence Award, the same will not apply for FIMI’s other awards i.e. Environment Award and Social Awareness Awards.
